AthletesCAN Forum, featuring KidsCAN School Day
The Forum is AthletesCAN’s flagship event. Hosted annually, it is the largest and most inclusive gathering of Canada's national team athlete representatives outside of competition. Over 100 delegates, including athlete representatives from over 60 sports participate in the weekend-long conference.
The Forum provides the opportunity to bring together Canada’s high performance athletes and sport leaders to network with others, share ideas, learn about the sport system and develop leadership skills through interactive workshops and presentations. The weekend-long event also features the AthletesCAN AGM and board elections. AthletesCAN will cover the costs for travel, meals and accommodation for one able-bodied and one disabled athlete representative from each sport to attend the Forum.
KidsCAN School Day is a recent addition to the AthletesCAN Forum. The day is an opportunity for school children in the host community to meet with national team athletes, try a variety of sports and learn about the importance of physical activity and healthy lifestyles. KidsCAN School Day will be held on October 2, one day before Forum sessions begin. Each athlete who registers for the Forum is invited to participate in KidsCAN School Day.
